Cool technologies from CES 2020

Mark Brinkerhoff gathered some exciting technology and trends from CES 2020.

At a recent PRG panel, Mark shares a couple of core technologies that are starting to be developed. Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) demonstrated some exciting conductive fabrics. That kind of technology paired with others like Sensel's force sensitive touch displays are going to start migrating into the wearable devices. Sensel's technology is force  sensitive, not capacitive, which means they can get wet and that will have a significant impact on wearables.

In the following video, these soft, bendable batteries are a new technology that may have a significant impact to IoT and wearable device companies. They are flexible, stretchable and water resistant. They can also resist extreme usage scenarios like impaling, crushing and shocking.

In the following video, Motorola's revamp of its iconic Razr flip phone shows off its flexible and dual display. As phones drive down the cost of this technology, we will see broad applications for these foldable displays.

Additional trends he saw included digital assistants, haptic technologies, voice activated products, and VR technologies among many other new and exciting technologies.
